Kilo Trim is a nonprescription weight loss pill that is manufactured by New Nordic Health, a company based in Sweden. This is a company that has a good reputation as a leading health brand in the Scandinavian region.

The Kilo Trim Formula Has Two Active Ingredients 

Each of the Kilo Trim tablets contains only two ingredients. They are:

• Glucomannan powder
• Chili fruit extract (capsaicin)

These two ingredients are extremely common in over the counter diet pills and one of them is known to contribute to weight loss in an indirect but quite helpful way.

The claims about this product are that it acts as a fat burner and an appetite suppressant and that these benefits can help to make it easier for a dieter to be able to lose weight. The appetite suppression is based on claims that glucomannan powder will be able to expand in the stomach to the point that it will trick the body into thinking that it is more full than it actually is.

Unfortunately, due to the quantity of this ingredient that has been used in Kilo Trim, it is unlikely that the appetite suppression will be significant. That said, one positive thing about its directions is that it clearly states that two 8-ounce glasses of water should be consumed along with each tablet (three of which are to be taken in a day).

The reason why this is positive is that many products containing this ingredient don’t recommend enough water to encourage the powder to fully swell to its largest gel form. In this case, it does. The extra water could also help to act as a temporary appetite suppressant.

Beyond Controlling Hunger, Another Supposed Benefit is Thermogenic Fat Burning

The second ingredient contains capsaicin, which is the substance that makes chili peppers spicy. It is known to work as a thermogenic agent by increasing the body temperature so that more calories from consumed food are being burned off as heat. This means that the dieter will be able to potentially burn off a larger number of calories than would be possible with diet and exercise, alone. Moreover, when combined with cardio exercise, it can increase fat burning even further.

Fortunately, a large amount of water is taken with this pill as dehydration can be a risk with a thermogenic response. It is important for users to pay close attention to their hydration levels and to drink plenty of fluids throughout the day.

Though it is unlikely that Kilo Trim will have an overwhelmingly powerful impact on weight loss, it does have the potential to be helpful and to take the “edge” off of some of the downsides of dieting, which could make it easier for some dieters.

There were actually several different versions of the Kilo Trim product produced by New Nordic Health. That being said, most seem to discontinued or are at least no longer for sale in the US, including the product reviewed above. Examples of some of the different versions of this product included:

The product discussed in the above Kilo Trim review is the version of this diet pill that includes chili (capsaicin) and glucomannan. That being said, you will notice that although each product differs slightly, they all have one ingredient in common: glucomannan.

Can Glucomannan Aid with Weight Loss?

Also known as konjac root, glucomannan is often touted in the OTC weight loss industry as being a powerful hunger controller or appetite suppressant. The common theory is that this natural water-soluble dietary fiber has the exceptional ability to absorb water. When it does, it transforms the fiber into a gel-like substance that takes up space in your stomach to promote a feeling of fullness, making it easier to eat less at meal time. It also can delay stomach emptying to increase satiety, is low in calories and lowers the absorption of fat and protein.

That said, the efficacy of glucomannan in regard to weight loss is inconclusive. Some research has found that it has the potential to be beneficial while other studies say that while these supplements are well tolerated, they have no effect on weight loss and further study is needed.

Ultimately, while Kilo Trim may not be available anymore, if you are considering taking a diet pill that contains glucomannan, remember that even if this ingredient should have an effect on your appetite, there is not guarantee that taking it will aid in or result in weight loss.
